The first step in creating a custom mountain bike is to decide on a seat post.
Your seat must fit the frame and the post should be manufactured from carbon fiber, titanium or aluminum.
A typical post is fine for some rail trail riding, but you may want to
take into account a drop-post. A drop-post can lower your seat,
giving you better clearance when attempting aerial
maneuvers. The downside to a drop-post is that
it's heavier. You are able to save weight by choosing a carbon or
hybrid seat post.
